Heroes Boosted by Rider Training Research
Rider Training research is a squad-wide buff, not a single-hero upgrade. Every Rider-class hero below inherits the full ATK, DEF and HP percentages the moment the node finishes — no re-levelling, no gear swap. That stacking is where the arena jump comes from: roughly 30M–70M arena power once the branch is done, depending on how deep your Rider bench already is.

How Rider Training Research Boosts Your Heroes
Rider Training research is a guard order buff: it tells every Rider-class hero and the troops riding with them to hit harder, soak more and survive longer. Because the bonus is a percentage applied to the whole class at once, the badges you sink into the branch are multiplied by every Rider on your bench rather than spent on a single unit. That is why finishing the tree usually lands somewhere between 30M and 70M arena power — the low end if you only run two or three levelled Riders, the high end if your full Rider roster is at Lv.150+ with five stars.
Why the arena gain varies so much
The +50% Rider ATK, +50% Rider DEF and +50% Rider HP at max are multipliers, not flat numbers. A Lv.150 epic Rider gains far less raw power from the same node than a Lv.175 legendary S3 Rider, so two players who finish the identical branch can end up 40M apart. If your arena team is mostly non-Rider heroes, expect the bottom of that range until you build the class out.
Get the most out of the branch
Level your Rider heroes before you finish the expensive tier-6 nodes — percentages need a base to multiply. Keep your Rider team slotted in Arena defence while you research, so every completed node shows up in your defence rating the same day. And treat Hybrid Armor (II) as a separate project: at 342,850 badges it is close to a quarter of the whole tree on its own.

How the Rider Training Research Calculator Works
This tracker covers the Rider Training branch in the Laboratory — the tree that carries your Rider ATK, DEF and HP plus the siege and field troop bonuses. It has 12 nodes across 155 levels and costs 1,440,070 research badges to finish. Use "Sequential Progress" to set your current level on each node, or drop your total badge count into "Custom Calculator" for a quick remaining/percentage readout.
How the Rider branch is laid out
The tree runs in seven tiers. Combat Policy and Interceptions open it at 22,860 badges each, then Mobility Enhancement (I) and Stronger Armor (I) feed into Hybrid Armor (I). Hybrid Armor (I) gates the Joint Operation / Mobile Defense pair, which in turn unlocks Field Training and Camo Coating. The tier-6 nodes — Mobility Enhancement (II) and Stronger Armor (II), 20 levels each — are where most of your badges go, and everything ends at Hybrid Armor (II) at 342,850 badges on its own. Unlocking the branch itself needs Laboratory Level 25 and 100% Field.
What the numbers mean
Open any node to see its per-level table. Badge cost is what that single level charges you, while the bonus and power columns show the cumulative value you reach at that level, exactly the way the in-game panel reports it. Maxing everything gives Rider ATK/DEF/HP +50% each, +20% Field Troop ATK and DEF, and +20% on each of the four siege stats, stacking up to 4,241,527 power — about 2.95 power per badge.
Research order that wastes the fewest badges
The two tier-1 nodes are cheap and mandatory, so clear them first. If you fight mostly in the open field, push Field Training and Camo Coating before the tier-6 Rider nodes; if you rally and defend bases, Joint Operation and Mobile Defense pay off sooner. Hybrid Armor (II) is the last thing anyone should start — it costs almost a quarter of the entire tree by itself.
Frequently Asked Questions
Rider Training research is the Laboratory tech branch that raises the ATK, DEF and HP of every Rider-class hero and their troops. It has 12 nodes across 155 levels and unlocks at Laboratory Level 25 with 100% Field.
The branch itself adds 4,241,527 research power, but the real gain is on your heroes: most players see about 30M to 70M arena power after finishing Rider Training, scaling with how strong their Rider heroes already are.
Maxing every node costs 1,440,070 research badges. Hybrid Armor (II) alone takes 342,850 of them, so plan the last tier separately from the rest.
Every Rider-class hero in your roster gets the bonus at the same time — the buff is applied to the class, not to one hero. Non-Rider heroes are untouched, so they need their own research branch.
Yes, if you run Riders in Arena or field fights — it is one of the largest single power jumps available from the Laboratory. If your Rider bench is thin, level a few Rider heroes first so the percentages have something to multiply.
Start with Combat Policy and Interceptions at 22,860 badges each, since they gate the whole tree. Then take Mobility Enhancement (I) and Stronger Armor (I) for your first real Rider ATK and DEF.
Fully maxed you get Rider ATK +50%, Rider DEF +50% and Rider HP +50%, plus +20% Field Troop ATK and DEF and +20% Troop ATK and DEF in both Siege Assaults and Siege Defenses.
Only research badges — the in-game panel lists no food, wood or steel for this branch. That is why this calculator tracks badge spend and nothing else.
At a steady 8,000–12,000 badges a week from events and dailies, 1,440,070 badges works out to roughly three to four months for a free-to-play account. Heavy event participation cuts that closer to two.
