Tactical Master Progress
Tracking 6,000,590 badges and 15,522,899 power across 33 nodes

A bigger power number. But is it your next move?
My short answer: get your troop training in good shape first. Then decide whether Tactical Master solves the next problem on your account.
- 01
Build your main class
Rider, Assaulter or Shooter Training — start with the troops you use.
- 02
Check what is unfinished
Compare the next useful upgrade, not just whole-tree power totals.
- 03
Plan Tactical Master
Pick a stopping point and keep badges for your other research.
Suggested spending order — not the game's unlock requirements.
Where I would spend first
Seeing a new branch in the Lab does not mean you need to start it straight away. Tactical Master is a big badge commitment, and the first question is not “how much power can I get?” It is “what am I leaving unfinished to pay for it?” If your troop training still needs work, I would look there before making this your next main project.
Troop training first, then look at Tactical Master
My recommendation is to build up Rider Training, Assaulter Training and Shooter Training before putting most of your badges into Tactical Master. Give your main troop class first attention. Finishing all three gives you a clear point to reassess what comes next, but this is advice about spending order, not a verified requirement to unlock the branch.
A long-term project, not a whale-only club
At 6,000,590 badges for the full tree, it is easy to see why this branch feels like whale territory. Spending can speed it up, but an F2P account can still approach it gradually. You do not have to max every node at once. Keep a badge budget for other unfinished research and choose a reachable stopping point instead of chasing the whole-tree total.
Power is useful, but it is not the whole decision
The tracker lists 15,522,899 cumulative research power across the finished branch. That is not a promise of the same increase in Arena rating. Look at the bonuses too: troop stats, faction hero ATK and DEF, field and siege stats, then damage and damage resistance near the bottom. A bonus you use in your fights matters more than a number that only looks impressive.
Tactical Master, Army Expansion or Age of Steel?
Once troop training is in good shape, I would consider Tactical Master for its combat bonuses. Army Expansion is a different choice if troop capacity is your problem; more troop room is not the same benefit as stronger stats. It also has listed research power gains and uses RSS and time rather than badges, so calling it a zero-power tree would be misleading. Age of Steel can help with development and support. Compare the next available upgrades rather than declaring an entire branch worse. Spend on the benefit your account needs now, not just the biggest power total.
Read the numbers, not just the power
The tracker covers 33 nodes and 470 levels. Each badge cost is the price of that one level. Bonus and power values are cumulative: they show what the node has reached at that level, not an extra amount to add on top of all earlier rows. Hero faction ATK and DEF values are flat bonuses; do not read them as percentages.
Budget for the expensive finish
Recharge Shield (II), Crippling Strike and Bulwark each need 507,060 badges to max. Together they take 1,521,180 badges. Reaching that part of the tree and being able to finish it are very different milestones, so check the remaining costs before spending your reserves.
The entry requirements are listed as Lab 31 and 100% Army Building; later levels can have further gates. Community tables also list RSS costs and research timers, which this badge tracker does not yet calculate. Use your Lab panel for the final check; listed values are not a guarantee of your Arena power gain. For a wider research plan, read the Tech & Research guide.
The questions I would ask before spending
Research order, real costs and what that power number means.
Is it right for my account?
05 entriesNot just because it appears in your Lab. My advice is to work on troop training first, especially the class you actually fight with. Tactical Master becomes a more sensible next project when your Rider, Assaulter and Shooter Training are finished or well developed, and you have badges to spare. That is a spending recommendation, not a claim that all three trees must be complete to unlock it.
No, but 6,000,590 badges makes the full tree a long-term commitment. A whale can move through it faster; an F2P player needs to be more selective. You do not need to finish the whole branch in one push. Work toward bonuses you will use, and leave room in your badge budget for unfinished troop training.
That is the order I would recommend for a developed account: build up the troop-training branches before making Tactical Master your main badge sink. Start with your main troop class rather than spreading badges evenly across three teams you do not use equally. If the other classes are still weak, compare what their next levels give you before committing to an expensive Tactical Master node.
For Tactical Master's combat bonuses, it is the branch I would look at first once troop training is developed. But Army Expansion is not a zero-power tree: community cost tables list research power gains as well as troop-capacity benefits. It does not use badges, though it still costs RSS and research time. If capacity is holding you back, it can be worth doing. These trees solve different problems and compete for Lab time, not the same badge budget.
For a combat-focused account with developed troop training, I would look at Tactical Master next. Age of Steel has a different job: development and support, including building unlocks and production, healing or speed benefits. Those can matter if your account is stuck on that side of progression. Compare the next available upgrade and what it gives you; a larger whole-tree power total does not prove every level is a better purchase.
Unlocks, costs & time
05 entriesCommunity research tables list Laboratory Level 31 and 100% Army Building as the entry requirements. Army Building is not Army Expansion: they are separate branches. Check your own Lab panel before upgrading for an unlock, especially on a state with different progression. Later nodes may need a higher Laboratory level, so Lab 31 should not be treated as the requirement for finishing everything.
The tracker totals 6,000,590 research badges across 33 nodes and 470 levels. That covers Tactical Master itself, not Army Building or the building upgrades needed to reach it. Your remaining cost depends on the levels you have already completed.
Recharge Shield (II), Crippling Strike and Bulwark each cost 507,060 badges to max. Together that is 1,521,180 badges, roughly a quarter of the entire branch. Those are whole-node totals, not single-level prices. Treat the last stretch as a separate project rather than assuming the early levels reflect the cost of finishing.
Yes. Community cost tables also list electricity, Zents and research time. This tracker tracks badges, bonuses and listed research power; it does not calculate those RSS costs or timers yet. Having enough badges is not the same as having everything needed to complete the research. Check the in-game cost panel before starting a level.
There is no reliable fixed number of weeks for every account. Dividing your remaining badge cost by the badges you can spare each week estimates the badge-saving time, not the completion date. RSS, Lab upgrades, research speed, alliance help and speedups also matter. A steady pace you can afford is better than draining your badges just to push the completion bar.
Power & combat bonuses
03 entriesThe listed cumulative research power adds up to 15,522,899 when every node is maxed. Do not read that as a guaranteed Arena or total-account power jump: those are different readings. This tracker does not predict your final Arena rating. Confirm the current values in your own Lab.
The branch includes Troop ATK, DEF and HP; field and siege bonuses; healing speed; march speed; and destruction value. It also has flat ATK and DEF bonuses for Blood Rose, Wings of Dawn and Guard of Order heroes. The final combat nodes include Troop DMG and Troop DMG Resistance. The flat hero values are not percentages.
Match the bonus to how you play. Field Training and Camo Coating are relevant to field fights; the siege nodes serve assaults or defenses; the faction nodes matter to the heroes you use. Follow the unlock path shown in your game first. This tracker lets you enter levels independently, so it is not proof that you can skip earlier nodes.
