How the HQ Construction Calculator Works
Pick a current and target Headquarters level (1 to 35) and this tool adds up every level in between from a per-level resource table — Wood, Food, Zent, Steel, build time and the buildings each level requires — and returns both the totals and a level-by-level breakdown table.
Worked example: HQ 33 → HQ 35
Say you're at HQ 33 heading to HQ 35. The calculator pulls levels 34 and 35 from the table and sums them:
- Level 34: 2.35B Wood, 2.35B Food, 470.0000M Zent, 6.2400M Steel — requires Assaulter Camp.
- Level 35: 2.71B Wood, 2.71B Food, 540.9400M Zent, 7.5300M Steel — requires Shooter Camp.
- Totals for HQ 33 → 35: 5.06B Wood, 5.06B Food, 1.01B Zent, 13.7700M Steel, and 490d 14h 55m of base build time, with Assaulter Camp and Shooter Camp as the buildings you'll need along the way.
That's exactly what the calculator above produces if you set Current Level to 33 and Target Level to 35 — the numbers here aren't a separate estimate, they come straight from the same lookup the tool uses.
How the resource mechanic works in-game
Every HQ level has a fixed Wood/Food/Zent/Steel cost and a fixed base build time, and — notably — Wood and Food requirements are identical at almost every level in this data, while Steel only enters the picture starting at level 31. Several levels also gate on a secondary building reaching a specific level first (for example, HQ 9 needs Hospital and Laboratory), which is why the breakdown table lists up to two required buildings per row.
How this data was collected and verified
Every level's resource costs, build time and building requirements were recorded from in-game HQ upgrade screens on our own account up through HQ35, then cross-checked against a second account for the lower levels both accounts had already cleared. The table covers HQ 1–35, which is the current maximum HQ level released in the game. If a future update raises the cap, the table will be extended.
Assumptions — what this calculator does and doesn't model
- Modeled: the base Wood, Food, Zent and Steel cost of each HQ level, and each level's base construction time, taken directly from the per-level table.
- Modeled: which secondary buildings (Laboratory, Alliance Center, Assaulter Camp, etc.) need to reach a given level before that HQ level can be started, shown in the "Buildings Required" list.
- Not modeled: construction speedup items, VIP build-time bonuses, event build discounts, or any hero/tech buffs that reduce resource cost or build time. The Time and resource totals shown are base values only.
- Not modeled: resource production rate or how long it would take you to gather the totals shown — this is a cost calculator, not a gathering-time estimator.
Frequently Asked Questions
06 entriesIt sums the Wood, Food, Zent and Steel needed to upgrade your Headquarters between any two levels from 1 to 35, plus the total build time and which secondary buildings (like Laboratory or Alliance Center) each level in that range requires.
From the data this calculator is built on, Wood and Food requirements are identical at almost every HQ level — that's how the underlying resource table is structured in-game, not a rounding artifact.
Steel only appears starting at HQ level 31. Every level from 1 to 30 costs Wood, Food and Zent only — Steel is 0 for that whole range in the data this calculator reads from.
They're read directly from a per-level resource table, so level-by-level figures should match your in-game upgrade screen. The calculator does not model any account-specific buffs, discounts or speedups — see the Assumptions list above for exactly what is and isn't included.
No. The Time column and total shown are base construction time only, taken straight from the level data, with no speedup items, VIP bonuses or event buffs subtracted.
Every level's Wood, Food, Zent, Steel, build time and required buildings were recorded from in-game HQ upgrade screens up to our own account's HQ35, cross-checked against a second account for the earlier levels we'd already passed.
