Hero equipment is one of those systems that sneaks up on you. For the first few weeks you barely notice it, and then suddenly you realise that the players ahead of you on your server all have orange gear on their heroes and you're still running purple. The gap it creates is real.

There are four gear slots per hero and the priority order for which slot to upgrade first actually matters — it's not the same for every hero type. Get this right early and you'll save yourself weeks of wasted materials.

    The Four Gear Pieces

Every hero can equip four pieces of gear:

    🔫

    Gun

Boosts hero attack and damage output. This is the priority first slot for any attack-role hero. If you're running Laura, Katrina, Queenie or Yu Chan — get their Gun to orange before anything else.

    🪖

    Helmet

Boosts attack and defense. Second priority for most DPS heroes after the Gun is orange. A solid all-rounder piece that helps in both offense and survivability.

    🛡️

    Heavy Armor

Enhances defense and troop HP. This is the first priority for support and defensive heroes like Sophia and Amelia. Their value comes from staying alive, not dealing damage.

    👢

    Power Boots

A mix of attack, defense, and troop HP. Usually third or fourth priority depending on the hero's role. Not bad, just not as impactful as the other slots when upgraded first.

There's also a fifth special equipment slot that becomes available through certain purchase options. It's not accessible F2P at launch but appears in events over time.

    Rarity Matters a Lot

Equipment comes in different rarities — blue, purple, and orange. The jump from purple to orange is the one that actually changes how your hero performs in fights and events. Blue gear is fine for the first week. After that you should be working toward purple, and once you hit mid-game the orange grind begins.

Orange equipment comes from Arena daily fights, Valor Medal exchanges in the Black Market (earned through SVS), and specific event rewards. The fastest consistent source is Arena — never skip your daily Arena fights. It takes two minutes and the cumulative rewards over weeks are what builds your orange gear collection.

VIP 10 gives daily orange fragments as a perk, which is one of the main reasons VIP progression matters for F2P players. Those daily fragments add up faster than you'd expect.

    Gear Priority by Hero Role

⚔️ Attack Heroes(Laura, Katrina, Queenie, Yu Chan)

    Gun → Helmet → Boots → Armor

    🛡️ Support Heroes(Sophia, Amelia, Chinatsu)

    Armor → Boots → Helmet → Gun

    🌾 Gathering Heroes(Giselle, Natalie, Athena)

Low priority — don't invest orange gear here first

    ⚠️
    WARNING

Don't put your best orange gear on a gathering hero while your combat heroes are still in purple. Gathering heroes don't fight — they farm resources. Your combat heroes need that gear first. I've seen players do this and wonder why they're losing every PvP fight.

    Equipment Sets

Different equipment combinations give bonuses when worn together. A full combat set on your primary attack hero gives noticeably better stats than mixing random gear pieces of the same rarity. The set bonus is real and it's meaningful in PvP especially.

As you start crafting orange pieces, aim to complete a full matching set on your #1 combat hero before splitting resources across multiple heroes. I know it's tempting to spread the upgrades around but trust me — one hero in full orange outperforms three heroes in mixed gear.

    Do This04
    • Prioritise orange Gun for attack heroes first
    • Do Arena fights daily for fragments — never skip
    • Match gear sets on priority heroes before spreading upgrades
    • Upgrade support heroes with Armor first, not Gun
    Avoid This04
    • Put orange gear on gathering heroes before combat heroes are equipped
    • Skip Arena daily fights — the fragments compound fast
    • Mix unmatched gear sets when you can complete a full set instead
    • Upgrade gear randomly without following role priority order
