Your First 7 Days in Last Z
Updated 7 Aug 2026 · 3 min readLook, I'm not going to sugarcoat it — Last Z throws a lot at you in the first few days. Half the menus make no sense, everyone in your alliance seems to know something you don't, and you'll probably make at least three decisions in week one that you'll regret for months.
This guide is what I wish existed when I started. Not a list of every mechanic — just the stuff that actually matters in the first seven days.
YOUR DAY-BY-DAY PLAN
Complete tutorial, claim rewards, join an alliance. Use beginner speed-ups on HQ only.
Check HQ timer every login. Start Shelter Building research. Send gathering troops.
Keep training queues running. You need troops for events. Aim for HQ level 8–9.
Participate even if score is tiny. Badges add up. Shield resources before logging off.
Start badge-free research trees. Never let the lab sit idle.
Learn Alliance Duel day rotation. Save speed-ups for correct days.
HQ upgrade → research → troops → gather → events. Repeat every single day.
Day 1 — Just Start Moving
The tutorial will hold your hand through the basics. Let it. Claim every reward it throws at you, even if you don't know what half of it is yet.
The single most important thing on day one: join an alliance. I don't care if it's small. I don't care if you don't know anyone. An alliance means people can send you speed-ups, which cuts your build times significantly from day one. Playing without one is just making your life harder for no reason.
Oh — and use your beginner speed-ups on HQ upgrades. Not buildings. Not troops. HQ first, always.
Day 2 and 3 — Build the Habit
By now you should have a simple routine forming. Every time you open the game, your first move is checking your HQ timer. If it's done, start the next one immediately. If it's running, check your other queues. This sounds boring but players who do this consistently every day grow at a completely different rate to players who upgrade randomly.
Start some basic research too. The badge-free trees — Shelter Building, Elite Troops — just run them constantly in the background. They're free and they compound over time.
Day 4 and 5 — Troops Matter Now
You need troops to participate in events. Events are where the real resources come from. So by day four or five, make sure you're training regularly. Nothing complicated — just keep the queues moving.
Also by now you should be hitting HQ level 8 or 9. If you're behind that, stop reading and go start an upgrade right now. Seriously.
Day 6 and 7 — Your First Real Decisions
This is where it gets interesting. You'll start seeing Alliance Duel pop up. Participate even if your score is tiny — any badges are better than zero badges. Those badges unlock things later that you'll really want.
Before you log off each night, check your resource totals. If you're sitting on more than your warehouse protects and you're not shielded — you're asking to get raided. Shield up or spend it. Don't leave it sitting there.
One last thing. The players who grow fastest aren't the ones who play the most hours. They're the ones who play consistently. Twenty minutes twice a day beats two hours once every three days, every time.
- Join alliance day 1
- Upgrade HQ first — always
- Use beginner speed-ups on HQ
- Shield before logoff
- Follow main quest line
- Spend diamonds on random items
- Train low-tier troops once higher are available
- Let HQ sit idle for hours
- Skip events entirely
NEVER let your HQ upgrade sit idle. Every hour your HQ is not upgrading is progress lost that you can never get back.
