Moonlit Elegy
The next season trades dinosaurs for werewolves, witchcraft and endless night. This is the honest preview: live-server intel, every disagreement flagged, nothing invented.
Updated 21 Sep 2026 · 12 min readOur state runs one season behind the global numbering, exactly as it did for Dinosaur Origin (our Season 3, everyone else's Season 4). If you arrive here from a guide that says Season 5, you are in the right place. Season names, buildings, monsters and heroes are identical — only the number differs.

Follow the grind in order
What this page is
Moonlit Elegy went live on servers 1–64 on 20 May 2026. Our state has not reached it yet — Dinosaur Origin still has weeks to run — so everything below is compiled from servers already playing it, cross-checked across four independent sources, with every disagreement between them flagged rather than smoothed over.
Read it now for one reason: the things that decide your Moonlit Elegy start are things you do before it begins. Diamonds, hero stars and which heroes are sitting at 5★ when the season opens are all pre-season decisions. Bank diamonds with the same discipline you use for the HQ construction plan.
If You Played Season 3, You Already Know Most of This
The loop is unchanged from Dinosaur Origin and Everfrost before it — kill map creatures, bank a seasonal resource, feed it into a resistance building, unlock higher-tier creatures, repeat. The art is gothic instead of Jurassic. The structure is the same.

| Season 4 (Moonlit Elegy) | Season 3 (Dinosaur Origin) equivalent |
|---|---|
| Werewolves | Velociraptors |
| Succubus / Knight Succubus | Stegosaurus |
| Holy Water | Fern Leaves |
| Shadow Blood Crystal | Cretaceous Scales |
| Serum Laboratory | Biotech Lab |
| Shadow Spring | Bio Greenhouse |
| Mysterious Witch | Hatch of Legends |
| Moonlight Collection (52 cards) | Fossil Album |
| Trading Stations + Night Market | Trade Hubs |
| Serverus (furious boss) | Ancient Dino rotation |
| Moon Tokens | Ancient Dino Eggs (shop currency) |
One structural difference: the Sunday world-boss rhythm is not a clean match. Season 3 gave you one Ancient Dino every Sunday at 12:00. Season 4's main combat event, Night Falls, runs daily and grows longer every week. Do not assume your Sunday routine transfers.
Week 1 — Non-Negotiables
Six jobs. Do these before troop-stat buildings start looking tempting.

Seasonal Buildings

Upgrade order
Grants Virus Resistance. Determines the maximum level of Succubus and Werewolf you can attack. Named as the main bottleneck of the season. Upgrade constantly.
Mines Holy Water passively. Higher level = more passive production.
Increases troop DAMAGE in season glory.
Increases troop ATTACK in season. Upgrade alongside Command Center.
Increases troop DEFENSE in season glory. For players expecting to absorb attacks in wars.

Monsters
| Target | Fuel | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Werewolf | 8 | The accessible target. Farm these while your Serum Lab is still low. Drops Shadow Blood Crystal; first kill drops a Demon Stone. |
| Succubus / Knight Succubus | 16 | Requires higher virus resistance. Larger Shadow Blood Crystal payout; first kill drops a Demon Stone. |
| Serverus (furious boss) | — | A vampire-themed hellhound. Works like previous seasons' furious bosses — appears on the map and can attack bases. |
Night Falls — the event the season is built around

- Night Succubi appear on the world map at fixed times each day.
- Each Night Falls lasts at least 1 hour. Duration extends by 1 hour each week.
- By Monday of week 8, the world enters endless night.
- Players can attack alone or team up with alliance members.
- Only the player who initiates the team-up and lands the kill is ranked. Rally participants do not rank.
- Rankings settle weekly; rewards are mailed the following Monday.
- Spawn times: one source lists 00:00, 08:00 and 16:00. Another lists only 08:00 and 16:00. Check your event timer.
- Ranking measure: one source says highest number slain, earlier kill winning ties. Another says highest level defeated. Volume farming and one hard target are opposite strategies, so verify first.

The Mysterious Witch

Feed her Demon Stones to raise her Affection Level. She is this season's Hatch of Legends — a season-long companion track that gates Moonlight Collection Cards, Moonlight Blessing, and Moonlight Operation, which launches operations against Succubi with higher-level targets paying more.
| Affection Level | Unlocks |
|---|---|
| 3 | Start exchanging for Moonlight Cards |
| 10 | Moonlight Blessing system — equip cards to troops |
| 21 | Additional slots |
| 33 | Final slot tier |
Moonlight Collection — the card system

- 52 cards total.
- Buffs: Troop Defense, Troop Attack, Troop HP and Troop Damage.
- Rarities: Golden, Purple and Blue.
- Each card occupies one slot. Equip it to a troop slot or raise the global blessing effect.
- All card effects are removed when the season ends.
Because buffs vanish at season end, there is no reason to hedge across troop types. Stack golden attack and damage cards on the troop type your main formation already runs, and on the same faction your red-star hero buffs.

One source spells Evelyn “Evely” and describes these three as SS season heroes rather than returning Season 1 heroes. The skills match Evelyn, so we use that spelling. Match by faction, not name, if your client differs; see the hero reference.
F2P reality: 6★ and 7★ are described as realistic free-to-play targets by mid-season, 8★ as achievable for focused players by season end, and 9★–10★ as heavy-investment tiers.
Structural Changes Beyond the Theme
Every city goes neutral. The opening land rush returns, and early gaps are harder to recover.
Your state is grouped with three others for the whole season: longer rivalries and deliberate alliance strategy.
Winning steals 20% of enemy points and removes the same amount from them. The final round raises the steal to 25%.
Levels 1–70 are unchanged from Season 3. Levels 75–90 add new abilities.
Read this alongside the Alliance Duel guide; point protection now matters more than pure scoring.
Mastery 71–90
Support
| Talent | Effect |
|---|---|
| Research reduction | Cuts research time across all queues by 30 minutes, scaling with level |
| Laboratory boost | Research speed boost in the Laboratory |
| Double attempt | 15% chance of double rewards on S-rank or higher bounty missions |
| VIP shop limit | +50% purchase limit for badges, speedups and wrenches |
| Calendar swap | Change Preparedness Calendar theme once every 5 days |
Below level 30 you are Support by default. From level 30 you choose. For most F2P players Support remains the recommendation, for the same reasons it did in Season 3 specialization. Combat is for active PvP players already above level 30.

Exact start times were not published — check in-game.
Set B · community wikis
| Event | Schedule | What happens |
|---|---|---|
| Nightfall | Daily | As above |
| Mysterious Witch | Day 1 | Demon Stones; Glory Chest every 8 hours paying badges and Z currency |
| Demon Hunter Assignment | Server reset | Special demon hunting assignments; details thin |
| House of Dawn | Sundays | Opens Sunday; details thin |
| Trading Stations + Night Market | Day 11 | Night Market accepts Moon Tokens |
| Camila's Shop | Day 1 | Chest/roulette with red fragments; choose Universal Awakening Badge or Universal Orange Hero Fragment |
Our read, not a fact: Witcher's Requests and Demon Hunter Assignment describe the same activity, and House of Dawn is likely the Sunday counterpart. We have not verified this.

Frequently Asked Questions
Moonlit Elegy FAQ
07 entriesBoth. Our state runs one behind global numbering. Same season, same content.
No confirmed date. Dinosaur Origin runs 91 days from its start, which points at roughly early December 2026, but the developers have not announced our state's transition. Treat any date you see as an estimate.
Unclear, and we will not guess. The red star system's top tiers (9★–10★) are explicitly described as spender territory, while 6★–7★ are called realistic F2P targets. Nobody has published a full F2P assessment of the season yet.
No. All blessing effects are removed at season end.
Three things: get your main faction hero to 5★, bank diamonds, and save Camila's Shop coins if that event is live for you.
Because we have not played the season yet, and pretending otherwise would make every number on this page untrustworthy. It will be rewritten as a verified guide when our state enters Season 4.
Match by faction icon rather than by name. Regional builds rename heroes; one source spells Evelyn as Evely.
Sources & Verification
This page was assembled from four independent community sources plus the official season announcement, cross-referenced against one another. We have flagged every point where they disagree rather than silently picking one. Nothing here has been verified in our own state, because our state has not reached this season.
Known discrepancies
- Night Falls spawn times — three windows versus two.
- Night Falls ranking rule — highest number slain versus highest level defeated.
- Moonlight Blessing slots — 4 slots versus 12 active cards at affection 33.
- Duplicate cards — convert to Moon Tokens versus upgrade the card.
- Event naming — two different event-name sets, both listed above.
- Three red-star heroes — returning Season 1 heroes versus SS season heroes; Evelyn / Evely spelling.
- Daily monster limit — unconfirmed by every source.
- Season numbering — varies by region.
If you are playing Moonlit Elegy on another state and can confirm or correct any of the above, tell us — corrections from players ahead of our state are exactly how this page becomes a real guide.
